Meet Chef Samie
My journey in hospitality began not with a degree, but on a challenging day in college when I felt alone—when I tied on my apron and realized that, even with a burdened heart, I could let it all go and step into service and create joy for someone else.. In that moment, I realized that hospitality is built on serving others first and from that comes joy.
This epiphany drove me to earn my degree in Hospitality and Tourism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I later was asked to work in New York’s hotel scene (The Flatiron Hotel), and ultimately chose to walk away from an industry that had lost the integrity of the hospitality industry. I promised to one day return to the kind of hospitality that feels like love; the hospitality that goes above and beyond no matter the cost.
I’ve spent the last decade hosting and cooking for the people that I truly cherish. Since 2014, I have hosted a Friendsgiving in my home with up to 45 people showing that there is always a home for everyone, especially around the holidays. Cooking is my love language. Hosting is my storytelling. And today, I bring that spirit—full of heart, memory, and meaning—to every table I serve.
